Ending someoneโ€™s employment is emotionally challenging. But, itโ€™s so much worse for the person being fired. Refrain from uttering some version of โ€œthis is hard for meโ€ or emotionally breaking down during the notification meeting. It only makes a bad situation worse.

  1. While it seems like obvious advice, I know of so many instances where someone has done this to an employee. And, it really does make a difficult situation even worse, especially for the employee.
