A Random Collection of Thoughts on How to Work

๐๐จ๐ญ๐ž: This is a long one, as Iโ€™ve judged itโ€™s time to wrap up this series of posts.

Every task, project or process must have an owner. This accountability is fundamental to ensuring what needs to get done is done, that we learn from our failures and that we strive to constantly make things better.

You sometimes run into a “how do you eat an elephant” situation. It is going to take so long to complete a particular task that we don’t bother starting. Better to take a long time than never start.

Many of the problems we run into are complex. As much as we hope for it, there often isn’t a moon shot solution. The answer often lies in introducing a number of smaller changes that, when taken together, solve the problem. Or simply make things better, an often overlooked goal. Speaking of which……

Too often, we get hung up looking for the perfect solution to a problem. An often fruitless search that can stop us from at least starting to make things better. Donโ€™t be afraid to experiment with solutions if they can easily (or relatively easily) be rolled back.
